Desserts...

HL took me by suprise and drove me down to Ikano Power Centre and gave me RM10 to buy myself a dessert from Yogur Plus. It was to celebrate our memorable date "wink wink" and just couldn't help it but to take a photo of the yogurt ice-cream in the car with my old PDA camera :P. Had toppings of strawberries, peaches and some chocolate chips to go with the low fat and healthy yogurt ice-cream.

Thank you for being so thoughtful dear, and you still owe me one in YogurBerry...mua-ha-ha...

A few days ago, we shared a bowl of Mango Lo in KTZ Food @ Kepong after dinner. I would say a perfect dessert whenever you need something refreshing and fruity. The mango portion was generous with lots of sago and shaved ice. (dan, I'm sure you will love this!)

I've been so busy with work lately and I just couldn't find sometime to update my little blog frequently :(. So tiring and I'm exhausted. Wished that I can have another me to help unload my work and house chores. Like what they say in cantonese, 'wan sek kan nan'

Rombongan Makan-makan Malam

Right after our short tour from the KLCC Skybridge, we headed to Bakerzin in Isetan, KLCC to have dinner as planned earlier. Sat down on a nice cozy area and started to browse through their menu. Dan and Dominic are first timers dining in Bakerzin whereas it's the 3rd time for me and HL. We had a total of 6 main dishes and 6 desserts to finish off. Sounds like a food marathon but we enjoyed it all. Here's the food we had.

This is what I ordered. My favourite of all...(I think the one in 1-Utama serves more mushrooms and it tasted better)

Dan's main dish. The rosemary taste is too overpowering and 'herby' for him :P

HL's burger. Tasted normal and would be great for brunch!

Dominic's Lamb Stew. The dish is abit on the cold side and oily. Would taste better if it's served warm.

Next up is the flaky pizza and Ham & Cheese Bruschetta for all to share. The toppings of the pizza are good but the flaky pastry is too oily...>_<. Bruschetta on the other hand again would be good for brunch.

After all the main dishes are cleared up, it's time for dessert! Yay! We ordered 6 different desserts to satisfy our sweet tooth.

The chocolate souffle is always my choice...It just melts into your mouth when you combine the warm souffle together with the thyme ice-cream.

Dan ordered this pretty dessert. It has ice-cream, cream cheese, strawberries...mmmmm...Tasted so good!

HL had their warm chocolate cake. It's indeed sinfully chocolatieeee...

Dominic was attracted to this dessert but it's way too sweet for us!...Gah...

We then had a taste of the profiteroles. Sinfully good again! but their Bailey's Irish Souffle didn't turn out that well. It's soggy in the inside.

That's all the 6 desserts that we managed to clear it up after all the 6 main dishes. 'Kuat makan' isn't it. But of course, our tummy was all round and bulging out...>_<

...and here's the bill - RM130.99. Thanks to dan for offering to sign off the bill by swiping his 'GOLD' Hong Leong credit card to really really enjoy their current promotion of BUY 1 GET 1 FREE! It's our first time having to enjoy so much food and dessert in just one dinner session. Sounds a bit crazy, but we had a pleasurable and satisfactory dinner. Hahaha...burp! 'Tham chiak'

Lawatan Sambil Belajar - KLCC Skybridge

Firstly, here's a BIG THANK YOU to dan for arranging us a visit to KLCC Skybridge, which I've been longing to go long long time ago. Before we were able to stand majestically inside the bridge, we have to go through several procedures which took us nearly 40 minutes;

1) quieng up to get our tickets checked and have a coloured tag passcard

2) quieng up to get our bags and body checked for security purposes
3) spent 20 minutes at their learning centre
3) watched a 7 minutes 3D show about Malaysia, Petronas and KLCC

4) went to the skylift which took us up to the 41th floor in approximately 40 seconds.

5) and we were only manage to spend 10minutes on the bridge :(...

The experience was both worthwhile and breathtaking. Will definitely bring my whole family on the next trip!

and our day outing doesn't ends here...(look out for my next posting)

Eugene & Joyi's Wedding Luncheon

Congratulations again to our Eugene a.k.a 'Nike' on his wedding last Sunday, 6th January. Like what his elder brother told us in his speech, he is no longer the usual little 'boy' that they used to call him as he is now a grown up man!

We travelled all the way down to Muar, Johor to attend this special occasion. Took some shots to share some moments to those who couldn't make it :).

The Yeoh's family wedding written in chinese..

Table Number 10...sitting with Joyi's friends. (suppose to sit in Table No. 11, but there's only 1 sit left)

Photo session with Chek Tong, HL, Eugene, Joyi, Me and Chek Tong's gf

The luncheon ended at about 3.45pm. It was raining when we got out from the restaurant. Headed back to Muar town to get some kueh-mueh and otak-otak before going back Melaka.

Wishing Eugene and Joyi with everlasting love and happiness!

Cova | cafe-lounge-bistro @ The Gardens

Recently met up on 01jan08 with the usual bunch of friends - waikhiong, shirley, brian, gigi and kok to do some money catching up for the upcoming wedding of Eugene. All of 'em were invited but couldn't go. So, ended up HL and me become the angpow money collector. Mua-ha-ha.

We went to Cova at The Gardens, Midvalley as it was less crowded compared to the normal Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Did some chit-chatting...and we ordered a nice hot Heavenly Chocolate (RM9.80). The top of the foamy chocolate beverage had a piece of art :)...NICE. The taste was good and heavenly as it is named :)...mmmmmm

We didn't order any food as it was near to dinner time. Probably on our next visit, we will try some.

First Day Of The Year "Yi Leng Leng Fatt"

It's only the first day of the year and I have already something to complain about. The increasing prices of food that I had this afternoon for lunch is way too unfair for consumers. Had the famous yong tau fu in Jalan Ipoh and these are the price comparison within the past few years:

Prices per piece:
2005-2006 : RM0.50
2007 : RM0.60 - RM0.70
2008 : RM0.90

I guess I won't be frequenting this yong tau fu outlet so often. In fact, I'm quite suprised why it's still packed with people though the food is so expensive. This year, I will try to become one of the 'Jadilah Pengguna Yang Bijak' when deciding what to eat for all the meals.

So people, if there's any makan-makan place that's cheap but taste good, do recommend it to us so that we can survive in the rising cost of living in Malaysia. I foresee that essential items from food to petrol will increase but a decline in salary.

Sigh...budget!budget!:P
