House Renovation in Progress

I know it has been growing mushrooms or 'lalang' around my blog now :). Well, if any of you had done any house renovations before, you should know how hectic it would be.

It's fun to learn and discover new things along the process and also burning a big hole in the wallet.

Targeting to move in by end of the year and we shall throw a house warming party and probably our first Christmas at our own house. Tralalala..

Up and Up North Getaway - KL to Ipoh

It's been a long long time since HL and I wanted to go Penang. After so much talking and planning, we finally kick off our road trip for the weekend since it's a holiday on Monday and took extra 2 days off from our hectic work!

Woke up at 7:00am and manage to take a photo of the sunrise :)

Departed at 8:07am and thanks to dan for this gadget :).

As planned, we stopped by Ipoh for our breakfast :). And the 'cari-cari makan' journey begins...

First stop, dim sum @ Foh San. This place is extremely crowded and one have to be patient to wait for a vacant table. Luck was on our side as we only waited for about 5mins.

Time to fill up our growling tummy with 'siu mai'. Yummmmm...

HL's favourite dimsum, braised chicken feet :P.

The 'char siew pao' here is really delicious! Soft pao skin and I love the taste of the 'char siew' filling.

The egg tart is really good too. Fluffy pastry with fresh egg filling that just melts in your mouth...

'Har Gao' with fresh big prawns.

If you love yam like me, this yam cake taste heavenly...

Fish ball with chopped garlic inside :). Unique and tasty!

Here's our bill, RM24.04 for a sumptuous dimsum breakfast.

A shot of the restaurant premise.

Next, we had 'tau foo far' for dessert at a nearby stall called Funny Mountain across the street.

OMG, this tau foo far is so smooth, soft and silky. One of the best I've tried so far :). Yuuummmmmmmies!

After our fulfilling breakfast/brunch, we continued our journey to Penang! And the food hunt continues...

Check In Chill Out

That's Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel tagline. HL and me will be checking in to one of Pullman's Indian themed room this coming Saturday. Thanks to my client for this brand experience. Unfortunately, we are given only 1 night stay not including the f&b. The food served in one of the main restaurant called 'B's' was really good. Tasted before last year and I would give a near perfect point of 9/10. Food freshness and the quality is really up to the notch!

Will be blogging more about it soon after my experience staying there :).

First Time @ HL's

It was my first time celebrating the chinese new year with HL's family. It was my first time baking cookies over their place using the small oven as well. Remembering how my mom and I used to bake using such a small oven too and it consumed alot of time when we need to bake in large quantities. Thanks to my dad who bought my mom a bigger oven 3 years ago. We had such an enjoyable time baking nice cookies and cakes then.

It was my first time doing a big plate of white carrot cake during the eve of cny without my mom around. It was a success though :). Thanks to my mom who taught me all these years.

Well, this year is abit different. Having to run here and there in both houses to help up to do some chores. I'm worried my mom would be too tired when I'm not around to help her out. Thank God my little sister is there for her to lessen her burden.

I had so much good food. Talking about steamboat and lots of dishes spread out on the table and a bottle of white wine with little gold leaves. It was a good wine though.
Will post up more photos later. Going to Muar soon to visit HL's grandparents and relatives.

Wishing everybody a very Ox-picious Chinese New Year

Another Brand New Year!

Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right!
2008 has just gone by with just a glimpse and now 2009 has come by. I have a whole list of new year resolution which I hope to get it done one by one throughout this 365 days.

First and foremost, I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart to all my family members, relatives and my dearest friends who has been with me. Life is so much meaningful with you guys around. A toast to all!

Let's see, the top most priority in my list for this year are listed below:
1) House renovation
2) Improve myself to bake and cook better
3) Start on a 'tabung duit' and chip in a minimum RM200 per month
4) A new kitchen aid machine
5) A new mobile phone (my current one seems unpresentable)
6) Yoga classes (although I miss my body pump and body combat)
7) Perm my hair

Wishing everybody to hang on to the new year though I know the economy is rather bad. I'm sure we will be able to pull it through with proper money-money planning. Life still goes on. We gotta 'move it move it'.

Cheers!
