Makan-makan Week-end

My tummy was filled with good food from the savoury ayam percik, ketupat, chocolate cakes, boh-boh char char, sushi@sakae sushi, BIG APPLE donuts and the most unique food that I just had today is roti babi. HL brought me to this place that he had earlier promised to bring me makan. It's called Yut Kee. It is just opposite Plaza Wilayah, Kuala Lumpur (near the Sogo area). The shop is rather easy to find as it's a typical old kopitiam.

Pictured above is the favourite dish in Yut Kee. I had the roti babi!!!! It ROCKS!! It is shredded pork cooked with onions encased in a super soft, fluffy, egg coated bread. HL had the old school style chicken chop. Both our dishes was RM7 each. They have a variety of food from the kopi-tiam toast bread, all sorts of noodles, rice and western delights.

And not forgetting, their kaya roll are very popular too. We bought 1 roll (12pcs) for RM7. The smell of the super soft cake and kaya is so tempting that you would want to have more. This kopi-tiam food is a must try!

Then we headed for a 3hr window shopping at the Pavillion. Lots of new brands at very expensive price tags. We had a bowl hand-made mee sua oyster (RM5.50) at one of the makan makan stalls located on the ground floor before heading back home. Yummy...burp~

Perfume Shopping

Hubby bought me a lovely perfume from Noi Bai Airport, Hanoi. I'm now the proud owner of the limited edition of L'eau D'Issey and I love it because it has green floral patterns! I would say the fragrance and bottle was so unique that I just couldn't bear to open and use it. The price was quite ohkay at USD47 for a 100ml. I'm in lala land...:) Thanks biebie.

eki*s macaroni cheese pasta

Created my own signature dish of macaroni cheese pasta which turns out to be rather tasty for a tuesday dinner. Don't know why I got this inspiration...but I just mix and match whatever I have in the kitchen and veges that I bought from the morning market. Took me less than 1 hour to prepare and it's rather simple to cook...muaha-ha-ha. Any upcoming potluck?...then I shall introduce this dish to everyone and taste.

Most tourists/Malaysians that came to Melaka complained that this place is blazing hot and humid. Believe it or not, the photo that you are seeing now was taken this morning when I was on the way back to KL. The entire Alor Gajah area was under a thick shroud of cooling midst.

Awesome sight isn't it :). Guess this phenomena only happens during the early mornings...haha. How I wish it's like this the whole day.

Thick black clouds hovering segambut & kepong sky...

Week-ender Break!

It's so nice to be home during the long weekend ho-ree-day season!...and of course, baking is usually a thing to do to kill the time. Digged out a baking book given to me by a bunch of university friends (HL, Eugene, Shirley, Wai Khiong, Jessy, Brian and Eunice) on my 21st birthday.

And so I chose to bake the most simplest and yummy Banana Bacon Rolls. Did that once a while ago and found that it taste really good. This time, I took the balance of the bananas and wrapped it with chocolate chips and my sista loves it. Too bad I only manage to make a few of that...

My office is officially starting work on Wednesday but I'm going back to work tomorrow as I need to output some stuff for a very important client.

Till then, enjoy the balance of the ho-ree-dayy!!!

Salam Aidilfitri

It was my first time making ketupat handi-craft with 2 ribbons. It was complicated at first, but eventually I got hold of it. Thanks to Dian who taught me how to weave the ketupat. Anyways, have a good holiday and enjoy the festive season!

Mythical Halong Bay...the emerald green waters

I was caught in awe when I first saw Halong Bay. It was so beautiful that you just need to sit back and relax on the junk boat while passing by the different shapes limestones....ahhh...such a bliss that I could actually make it here :). Overall, the trip to Hanoi was enjoyable although it rained during our stay in town. Will post up more photos later. I need to catch up with my office work at the moment. Till then...ciao...

Be Right Back

Am going for a vacation with my hubby and parents to Hanoi! Will be updating the blog next Monday! Till then, have a good week peeps!
