Hanoi...here I come
Wow, I manage to get 4 free tickets to Hanoi(1-way) from Air Asia's FREE 1 million sits. After half a day thinking and booking thru the crawling Internet, I finally got to book 4 tickets in early October. So, there's plenty of time for me to plan for the trip. Going on 2nd of October and it's a late flight (7pm) and coming back on the only flight on 6th (10pm). Well, basically, I've spent about Rm1500+ on flight tickets alone including airport tax and surcharges >_<...
Tralala...it's a thursday! I'm so looking forward to go home this weekend and bake cookies for the coming Chinese New Year! Mmm..let me see, chocolate chip cookies.....:)

Welcome to the year 2007
It's 020107 @ 11.04am @ HL's office. Muahahaha. Yes, he's working today and I'm here to surf the Internet and to update my blog!
Last weekend on Saturday, HL's parents, his uncles's family and I went for a short 1 day trip to Kuala Selangor just to experience the awesome sight of fireflies. (I've always wanted to see it myself after hearing it from my friends). It was quite a long journey of about 1 and 1/2 hours drive from Banting through Klang (we went to the Chinese Temple-FGS before we drive up to Kuala Selangor).
Reached Kuala Selangor at about 6.30pm and met up with his uncle and checked in into one of the hotels in Kuala Selangor - De Palma Hotel. We stayed in a chalet with lots of nature surroundings. It's kinda kewl when you reached Kuala Selangor with the name 'KUALA SELANGOR' on top of the hill - juz like HOLLYWOOD.
Went to the nearest fireflies park in Bukit Belimbing - FIREFLIES PARK RESORT at 8.15pm. It's about 18mins drive from our hotel. Upon reaching the park, we have to pay RM9 per person for a boat ride along the Sungai Selangor to watch the fireflies. Before reaching the jetty itself, I was so excited when I saw the fireflies on one of trees! It looks like a christmas tree with all the blinking yellow lights. ^____^. Wanted to take photo of it, but I couldn't. It turned out to be a piece of pitch dark photo. :(
There was a big signage stating these:
No photography allowed.
No flash from cameras or torches.
No noise.
Anyways, there's wasn't a big crowd and we waited for about 15mins for the boat. As usual, we have to put on our life jacket and sprayed mosquito repellent on my legs and hands. While we were walking down towards the jetty, I was even amazed with more fireflies on the 'palembang trees' (fireflies love to feed on the leaves of these trees). We hopped onto the boat and there we go.......off to the river banks of sungai selangor and watched the fireflies. The surrouding was not as dark as there was nearly a fullmoon on the sky. I was so mesmerized with the sight of the fireflies lighting up the palembang trees by the river banks. Awesome .....very awesome and beautiful~The boat ride was about 20minutes and I thought it was worth an experience. His uncle told us that previously, it was more beautiful as there were more fireflies. In fact, they are now trying to preserve these fascinating insects as they are now facing habitat destruption.
The next day, we went on to visit Bukit Malawati, one of the historical sites in Kuala Selangor with all the canons and fort. (just like the one in Melaka - where you can see the Straits of Melaka). Then, we drove down to Pasir Penambang where the fishing village is. Bought some dried prawns, ikan bilis, keropok, fresh fish balls....and etc. It was reasonably priced.
Then, we headed back to Kuala Lumpur.....tiring but enjoyed it very much!
Twinkle...twinkle fireflies...
